The serene Mussoorie Hills in the Himalayas recently hosted a historic and soulful event—the world’s first Prakriti Ki Aarti (Nature’s Aarti), a unique tribute to the environment through the harmonious blend of music and spirituality. The event was the highlight of the Aaroha Spiritual Musical Wellness Retreat held at Punarnava Wellness Resort, Dehradun, offering an unparalleled experience of wellness, nature, and music.

A Musical Tribute to Nature

The Prakriti Ki Aarti was conducted by Vaishnavacharya Jai Jai Sri Abhishek Goswami Maharaj, a revered spiritual leader known for his efforts to promote harmony through spirituality. Accompanying him were some of India’s most renowned musical maestros, including:

1) Ustad Anwar Khan Manganiyar, the Padmashri award-winning folk artist from Rajasthan, whose soulful melodies captured the spirit of India’s cultural heartland.

2) Pt. Ajay Prasanna, a three-time Grammy nominee and celebrated flutist from the Benares Gharana, who enchanted listeners with his musical compositions.

3) Meeta Pandit, a leading exponent of the Gwalior Gharana, whose Hindustani classical vocals brought a timeless elegance to the event.

The harmonious confluence of their talents created a spiritually uplifting experience that paid homage to Mother Nature and left the audience in awe.

A Retreat Rooted in Wellness and Spirituality

The retreat offered attendees a distinctive combination of classical, folk, and Sufi music, interwoven with wellness practices and spiritual discourses. It was the brainchild of Vaishnavacharya Jai Jai Sri Abhishek Goswami Maharaj, entrepreneur Bani Sharma, and communication specialist Abhinav Sood.

Speaking about the retreat, Bani Sharma, Project Head, shared, “The Aaroha Spiritual Musical Wellness Retreat was designed to celebrate music, spirituality, and the beauty of nature. The Prakriti Ki Aarti was a truly magical moment, and seeing everyone come together in celebration was the perfect conclusion to this soulful journey.”

Why the Himalayas?

Highlighting the significance of the location, Vaishnavacharya Goswami Maharaj remarked, “The Himalayas are a divine source of healing energy. From the sacred ‘Sanjivani Buti’ to the region’s vibrant flora and fauna, there is no better place to offer our prayers to Mother Nature.”

A Journey Through Music

The retreat commenced with Evoking the Divine, a spiritual invocation led by Vaishnavacharya Goswami Maharaj, setting a tranquil and meditative tone. Attendees were then treated to:

1) Thumri in the Hills by Meeta Pandit, whose classical renditions resonated with the natural beauty of the surroundings.

2) The Manganiyar Magic by Ustad Anwar Khan Manganiyar, transporting the audience to the vibrant cultural landscapes of Rajasthan.

The retreat’s combination of musical performances, spiritual insights, and natural serenity provided attendees with a rejuvenating experience for the mind, body, and soul.
