Superman’s latest released teaser has been receiving backlash over a particular shot involving David Corenswet’s face.
Soon after the 30-second snippet was dropped by DC Studios, one of the fans pointed out that Computer-generated Imagery (CGI) was used to alter David’s face in the flying shot.
Many other netizens also took in notice the flaw in the final moments of the trailer and directly referred to director James Gunn under the one of his Threads.
They wrote under the post: “There’s plenty of time to refine the CG.”
DC CEO, in order to defend his superhero and film, came forward to clarify people’s confusion.
Gunn directly responded on Threads saying that no CGI was used on the 31-year-old actor’s face. It is 100% real.
“There is absolutely zero CG in his face. People’s faces can look different when you put a wide-angle lens up close”, explained the 58-year-old filmmaker.
He continued: “The background plate in Svalbard is 100% real as is David.”
Ever since the first look came out for the new Superman movie, some kind of criticism has bene circulating around it.
Besides this CGI backlash, many fans have been comparing Corenswet’s portrayal of the superhero with that of Henry Cavill’s.
Cavill fans are extremely angry over the new casting as they only believe ‘Henry Cavill IS Superman.”
