Sigourney Weaver stunned as protesters attacked stage

Sigourney Weaver’s biggest night in London took an unexpected turn when Just Stop Oil protesters stormed the stage, turning her West End performance into a nightmare.

The Hollywood star, known for her legendary roles, was in the middle of her show when activists interrupted, leaving the audience stunned.

The 75-year-old star, who is playing the magician Prospero in the play, was forced to stop her performance at London’s famous Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Monday.

The activists set off a confetti cannon and held up an orange banner that read, “Over 1.5 degrees is a global shipwreck.”

Protestor Hayley Walsh said in a statement, “I can’t sleepwalk them into a future of food shortages, life-threatening storms, and wars for resources. Years of writing to MPs, going on marches, and teaching my students to be more sustainable haven’t seen the urgent change needed.”

Her colleague, Richard Weir then continued: “We’re already seeing the damage this crisis is doing to crops, homes and entire neighbourhoods. Unless we come together and demand a move away from fossil fuels by 2030, we will go the same way as manufacturing in the UK.”

The Metropolitan Police later confirmed that a man and a woman were arrested on suspicion of trespassing after disrupting the show.
