The latest victim, a 37-year-old man from Pune, succumbed to the syndrome at the hospital after battling complications like septic shock and acute coronary syndrome, according to reports.
With 192 suspected cases and 167 confirmed, health authorities are intensifying efforts to monitor the outbreak. While there is no guaranteed way to prevent GBS, certain precautions can help reduce the risk. Here’s what you need to know to protect yourself.

Many cases of GBS are linked to Campylobacter jejuni, a bacteria commonly found in undercooked meat, unpasteurized milk, and contaminated water.
