Pakistan reports sixth polio case of 2025 – SUCH TV

The National Institute of Health (NIH) has confirmed the sixth case of polio in Pakistan this year, with the latest infection detected in a child from Thatta district, Sindh.

According to the National Polio Laboratory, this marks the fourth polio case from Sindh in 2025, while one case each has been reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

The latest development raises concerns over the resurgence of the virus despite ongoing eradication efforts.

Health officials have reiterated the need for increased vaccination coverage, particularly in high-risk districts. Last year, Pakistan recorded a total of 74 polio cases, highlighting the persistent challenge of eliminating the disease.

However, health experts stress that misinformation and access issues remain significant hurdles in eradicating the virus.
