Sterling K. Brown experienced his fair share of mischief during his teenage years.
On Tuesday, January 28, the 48-year-old star appeared on Good Morning America, where Robin Roberts playfully asked about his teenage years, saying, “I hear you had a bit of a run-in with the law when you were younger.”
However, he clarified he wasn’t “out there in these streets like that” and recalled an incident where he was pulled over while driving, which turned out to be more complicated than he thought.
Brown told a story about being pulled over by a motorcycle cop.
The This Is Us star explained the officer question him whether he knew why he was stopped, to which he genuinely responded, “No sir, I don’t,” since he wasn’t speeding.
The officer then suggested his friend in the backseat might know, hinting that it was because his friend had thrown a cigarette out the back window.
He said that his friend, Brian Brooks, quickly offered to take the blame, saying he would pay for the ticket.
But the actor was shocked to learn there was a warrant for his arrest because his friend didn’t pay the ticket.
“I go off to college, I come back home to renew my license and I had a warrant out for my arrest,” Brown revealed.
He reflected, saying, “I had warrants at 19. That’s not a good feeling.”
