The Fall Guy star Heather Thomas revealed she was forced to exit Hollywood.
During a recent episode of Still Here Hollywood, the actress, who played Jody Banks in the ABC show that aired from 1981 to 1986, revealed why she slowly walked away from the spotlight after co-starring with Lee Majors.
“I actually did some work after The Fall Guy,” she opened up in the film interviews podcast hosted by Steve Kmetko. “I did a lot of movies, and then I was just getting so many stalkers and really, really bad. Really bad — at least two a week. I had tons of restraining orders.”
From a slew of horrific incidents, she recalled one during which a man, armed with a giant knife, attempted to break into her home before stricter laws for stalker were put in place, highlighting that fame comes at the cost of personal security.
Thomas left her Hollywood career behind, stating that in her era, fans or obsessed individuals would often fixate on celebrities, causing them to cross boundaries.
In addition, she was juggling her hectic job and raising her two girls at the time. The now 67-year-old recounted the time she was away from home for long stretches—up to two months—and realised that such an absence wasn’t suitable to raise her kids properly.
The former actress, has made three appearances on different projects, according to IMDb, since her 1998 role as a stunt performer in all five seasons of the American TV series.
Additionally, she returned to make a cameo appearance in the 2024 movie The Fall Guy that starred Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.Â
Thomas plays her character from the hit series alongside Majors as Colt Seavers.
