Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad has criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for listing his name in the PSL 10 Draft, despite his retirement from the league in 2023. Shehzad voiced his frustration on his YouTube channel, calling the move a “publicity stunt.”

The 33-year-old, who last played for Quetta Gladiators, accused the PCB of using players for promotional purposes.

“PSL 10 is happening, and suddenly it seems like I am part of it. Are you happy with the hype now?” Shehzad questioned. He also expressed disappointment in the PCB’s focus on creating buzz rather than addressing the struggles of domestic players.

Shehzad clarified that he had not withdrawn his retirement and that neither he nor his agent submitted his name for the draft. “My decision to leave PSL was based on the lack of merit and the preference for connections over talent. I stand by that,” he said.

The batter firmly denied any involvement in the upcoming season and called the inclusion of his name in the draft a move for “cheap publicity.”
