A widely shared image on social media claims that The Simpsons has predicted Pakistan’s victory in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. However, the viral image has been confirmed as an AI-generated creation rather than an actual scene from the long-running animated series.
The Simpsons has gained a reputation for eerily predicting major global events, including Donald Trump’s presidency, Kamala Harris’ electoral defeat, the California wildfires, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of these predictions, made years in advance, have proven remarkably accurate.
With the Champions Trophy set to begin on February 19, social media users have been circulating an image suggesting that the iconic show has foreseen Pakistan’s triumph.
The Green Shirts, who are both the host nation and defending champions, are set to kick off the tournament against New Zealand at Karachi’s National Stadium.
However, fact-checkers and online users have pointed out that the viral image does not originate from the actual Simpsons series but is instead an AI-generated hoax designed to mislead audiences.
“This is just an AI trick,” one user commented, while another humorously remarked, “Given Pakistan’s current team selection, this might be the first time The Simpsons gets a prediction wrong.”
Pakistan last won the Champions Trophy in 2017 under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed, securing a historic 180-run victory over India in the final at The Oval. The much-anticipated Pakistan-India clash in the 2025 edition is set for February 23 in Dubai.
