Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met USA Cricket Chief Executive Officer Johnathan Atkeison in Washington to explore collaborations, including a potential tri-series with Canada, the PCB announced on Tuesday.

The two officials discussed the possibility of hosting a tri-series featuring Pakistan, Canada, and the United States, as well as bilateral series between the men’s and women’s teams of Pakistan and the US.

Naqvi assured Atkeison of full support for the development of cricket in the United States. “He offered to train US coaches in Pakistan and invited Atkeison to visit during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which begins next month,” the PCB said in a statement.

Cricket remains a niche sport in the US, with around 200,000 players participating at various levels, including amateur, club, and international competitions. However, recent growth has been driven by the popularity of T20 cricket, with Major League Cricket emerging as the premier domestic competition.
