In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Azaan Sami Khan penned a heartfelt note to his daughter Lilly, wishing her a happy birthday. “Happy birthday to the love of my life, my princess, my jaan and angel,” Azaan wrote, before slipping in love for his son as well, “Both of you are Allah SWT’s greatest gift to me, your Baba, forever. When you’re older and read this, it will all make sense.”
The caption was attached to a carousel of heartwarming snaps, freezing the duo in different moments in time. One photo saw Lilly hugging her father in a recording booth, while another captured Azaan kissing her on the cheek. The adorable thread ended with twin grins from the two.
While the Meri Tanhai actor had disabled comments under his post, Instagram users reshared the photos with much fondness for the family. Some even pointed out Lilly’s stark resemblance to her star grandmother, Zeba Bakhtiar.
Azaan has been consistently vocal about his love for his family, from celebrating their birthdays to entering every new year with them. When it comes to his fatherly affection, he’s not willing to make any compromises, not even at the expense of his celebrity image.
“I’m told every few days in the industry by someone or the other, at times even by people I respect and take seriously, that ‘Azaan you’re young, you’re in the early years of your career. Don’t be too open about the fact that you have kids. Keep quiet about it,'” he wrote in an Instagram post back in 2020. “The truth is how can I do that when they are what define me? Inspire me? Push me to do better. Be better.”
Addressing the future lives of his children, he added, “I know I already felt the highest I’ve ever felt the day I became your father, and each time I see you, I know that no goal or level of success will ever surpass that.”
