A social media post claims that a common ingredient is better than Viagra for erections. We did the fact check and termed this claim as false.
The Claim
A Facebook video claims a common fridge ingredient is superior to Viagra for erectile problems. It says this ingredient works in seconds, has permanent effects, and isn’t affected by age, diabetes, or stress. The video suggests Viagra stopped using this ingredient due to a conspiracy, and implies three common fridge ingredients can lead to longer-lasting sex. It also claims this remedy will keep you “strong forever”, regardless of age.
Fact Check
Can a fridge ingredient outperform Viagra for erectile problems?
No, there’s no evidence that any common fridge ingredient is better than Viagra (sildenafil) for erectile dysfunction (ED). Viagra works by increasing blood flow to the penis, helping men with ED achieve and maintain an erection. No common kitchen ingredient has been scientifically proven to do this as effectively.
We spoke with Dr Almas Fatma, MBBS, Diploma in Family Medicine, PG in Digital Health, General Physician from Navi Mumbai, for her opinion on a common home ingredient for ED. She says, “No common fridge ingredient can outperform Viagra for erectile problems. Erectile dysfunction is a complex issue with various causes, including age, stress, and medical conditions like diabetes. While some foods may support overall health, they don’t provide an instant or permanent fix, as this claim suggests.”
Does this remedy work in seconds or minutes, and last forever?
No, this is not true. While some natural remedies might have anecdotal support, none work as quickly or with permanent results as claimed. ED treatments like Viagra usually start working within 30-60 minutes, and their effects don’t last forever. Claims of instant and permanent results are misleading and lack solid medical research.
Is erectile dysfunction unaffected by age, diabetes, or stress?
No, that’s wrong. Age, diabetes, and stress do affect ED. Older men are more prone to it due to hormonal changes and reduced blood flow. Diabetes damages blood vessels and nerves, also contributing to ED. Stress, both mental and physical, can also interfere with sexual performance. It’s a complex issue, and saying these factors don’t matter is simply incorrect.
Dr Ubaid ur Rahman, General Physician at Holy Mission Clinic, New Delhi, says, “Erectile dysfunction is strongly linked to factors like age, diabetes, and stress. As men get older, changes in blood flow and hormone levels can contribute to the issue. Diabetes can damage nerves and blood vessels, making ED more likely, while stress and mental health play a big role too. Ignoring these factors oversimplifies a complex condition.”
Can erectile dysfunction be cured forever, regardless of age?
Definitely, no. No remedy, especially a common fridge ingredient, offers permanent results for ED, and it certainly won’t work the same for everyone at any age. ED has many causes, and there’s no single remedy to treat it forever. The idea that someone in their 50s, 60s, 70s, or 80s can regain youthful function permanently with a simple fix is misleading. Age, health conditions, and lifestyle all play a role, and treatment needs to be specific for an individual.
Can sex timing dramatically increase with just three fridge ingredients?
No, it cannot. No household ingredient or simple remedy can guarantee dramatic increases in sexual stamina, such as lasting more than 1.5 hours. These exaggerated claims aren’t scientifically supported and are often used to trick people into believing there’s a quick, easy fix for complex problems. Sexual performance depends on both physical and psychological factors, and no fridge ingredient can resolve these instantly or permanently.
Are public figures being used inappropriately in the video?
Yes, the video wrongly uses images of well-known people like Dr Naresh Trehan and Ravish Kumar. Independent verification of their social media and news reports show they haven’t endorsed or been involved with anything like this. The voices used in the video sound artificial, and the lip movements don’t match. This is a clear attempt to make the video’s claims seem believable, even though they aren’t. The video doesn’t actually reveal what this “remedy” is, but instead focuses on misleading and over-the-top claims.
Similarly, false claims have linked Dr Naresh Trehan to a quick fix for high blood pressure, but there is no truth to this.
Is the “Learn More” link a legitimate resource?
No, the video uses a “Learn More” link, but it doesn’t provide any further information, suggesting it’s likely clickbait. The lack of actual details about the remedy is a red flag, further casting doubt on the claims’ legitimacy.
Similar false claims exist, like baking soda curing diabetes in three days, using a fake AI voice of Dr P Raghu Ram. This too was debunked.
THIP Media Take
The claim that a common ingredient is better than Viagra for erections is false. This is misleading and lacks scientific evidence. Erectile dysfunction is a complex issue, and relying on such unverified remedies is not only ineffective but potentially harmful. Always talk to a healthcare professional before seeking treatment for ED.
