Actors Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra have announced that they are expecting their first child. The couple shared the news with their followers on Instagram, posting a picture of tiny baby socks placed in their hands. In the caption, they wrote, “The greatest gift of our lives. Coming soon.”
Following the announcement, friends from the film industry and well-wishers filled the comments section with congratulatory messages. Shilpa Shetty responded warmly, saying, “Aww congratulations are in order.” Meanwhile, producer Ekta Kapoor humorously wrote, “Sleepless nights are here.”
The couple, who tied the knot in February 2023 in Rajasthan, had been in a relationship for several years before getting married. Their first meeting took place at a gathering after Kiara had finished filming Lust Stories.
During an appearance on Koffee with Karan, Kiara reminisced about the moment Sidharth proposed to her in Rome. “He had everything planned, starting with a candlelight dinner. After dinner, we went for a walk, and as we reached a spot, a violinist suddenly emerged from the bushes, playing beautifully. At the same time, his little nephew was sweetly capturing the moment on video from behind the bushes. Then, he got down on one knee and proposed. I wasn’t expecting it that night, so I was completely overwhelmed and didn’t say anything,” she recalled.
She also shared how Sidharth, caught up in the emotions of the moment, started reciting lines from Shershaah. “He goes, ‘Dilli ka seedha sada launda hun,’ and then starts reciting the entire dialogue from Shershaah, just like in the movie. That’s when I couldn’t hold it in and burst out laughing,” she said.
With their family present in Rome, the couple was able to celebrate their engagement together before informing Kiara’s parents and filmmaker Karan Johar.
