Rapper Raftaar, who is well-known for his brazen musical style, and fashion stylist-actor Manraj Jawanda celebrated their new journey together with a lovely  wedding that honoured their respective cultural backgrounds. Sikh customs and Kerala’s tranquil wedding style were expertly combined in the small but lavish festivities, creating the ideal ‘2 States’ wedding. In keeping with his Mallu heritage, Raftaar wore an ivory Kasavu mundu and a beige silk shirt to look like the happy groom. He added a contemporary touch to his classic ensemble by accessorising with a thick gold chain and understated yet sophisticated eyewear. It was a picture-perfect moment as the rapper danced his way into the wedding mandap, displaying his contagious energy.
Manraj adhered to the modest elegance of Malayali brides by wearing an ivory and gold Kasavu saree for the traditional Kerala-style wedding. A full-sleeved blouse with intricate embroidery was worn with the simple yet eye-catching saree, creating a charming antique look. She added a touch of Kerala’s classic bridal style by choosing temple jewellery, which included traditional jhumkas, a long tiered haram, and a hefty gold choker. Her makeup for this look was dewy and soft, with a warm nude lip, delicately kohled eyes, and well-defined brows. Her saree looked stunning with her hair fashioned in a traditional Malayali bridal bun and embellished with mogra flowers.
Raftaar looked the handsome groom thanks to his elaborately zardozi-embroidered ivory sherwani. His groom’s scarlet outfit looked stunning with the sherwani’s beautiful maroon piping. He accessorised with a statement kalgi, a traditional crimson turban, and a stacked pearl mala. His royal appearance was enhanced by his groom’s sword, a necessary component in Sikh weddings.
For their Anand Karaj, the couple embraced the traditional Punjabi grandeur with sophisticated ensembles. Manraj, a vision of grace, wore a deep red lehenga adorned with intricate zari embroidery and heritage motifs. The heavy gold threadwork, punctuated with floral and paisley patterns, reflected the regal aesthetics of Punjabi brides. She paired her lehenga with an elaborately embroidered dupatta draped over her head, adding a touch of elegance.
Manraj’s jewellery selections were stunning, including a matha patti, delicate haathphools, matching chandbali earrings, and an intricate polki and kundan choker paired with a longer necklace. Her makeup was classic, with softly flushed cheeks, muted nude lips, and a dramatic kohl-rimmed appearance. Her Punjabi bridal avatar gained a subtle South Indian flavour from her well-tied bun embellished with fresh jasmine blossoms.
As he continues his journey on MTV Hustle 4 and prepares for exciting new endeavours, Raftaar’s personal milestone is proof that love knows no bounds. Undoubtedly, one of the year’s most fashionable and culturally significant events will be Raftaar and Manraj Jawanda’s wedding.
